Springtrap is a killer in Dead by Daylight that can completely dominate a match, but he takes practice to really master. With his axe, security doors, and stealthy playstyle, he’s a ton of fun to play and can surprise survivors in all kinds of ways. In this guide, we’ll go over the best Springtrap builds so you can move faster, hit axes more often, and control the map like a pro.
Springtrap Haste Build

Known as the best and strongest Springtrap build in Dead by Daylight, focused on speed. This build lets you zoom across the map and is perfect for the current haste meta.
- Furtive Chase (The Ghost Face): Hooking your Obsession gives you 18 seconds of Undetectable status and a +5% Haste status effect.
- Hex: No One Escapes Death (General Perk): Once the Exit Gates are powered, NOED activates and lights a Dull Totem. Giving you a 4% Haste Status Effect and permanently causing Survivors to suffer from the Exposed Status Effect. The Aura of the Totem is revealed to all Survivors within 4 meters.
- Machine Learning (The Singularity): Damage Generator action activatesMachine Learning, causing a generator to become compromised. Compromised generator’s aura is highlighted, and after completion, effects like undetectable and 10% haste are applied.
- Batteries Included (The Good Guy): When within 12 meters of a completed Generator, a +5% Haste Status Effect is granted, lasting 5 seconds after leaving the Generator’s range.
What is known to be the best and strongest Springtrap build in Dead by Daylight is the haste build. As we are currently in the middle of a significant haste meta, Springtrap is no exception.
When you combine these perks with Springtrap’s speed add-ons—Foxy’s Hook and the Celebrate! Poster—you can achieve up to 164% haste, which is 14% faster than Sprint Burst. If you’re looking to zoom across the map, this is the build for you!
Lore Accurate Springtrap Undetectable Build

Another one of Springtrap’s strongest builds, focused on staying undetectable. You can use the doors to your advantage and aim to jump scare Survivors in the match.
- Unforeseen (The Unknown): Whenever you do the Damage Generator action, it applies the Unforeseen perk for 30 seconds. It transfers your terror radius to the damaged Generator with a 32-metre radius. Also gives you an Undetectable status effect.
- Dark Devotion (The Plague): When the Obsession gets injured, Dark Devotion activates. Your terror radius is transferred to the Obsession and has a 32 metre radius. It also gives you an Undetectable status effect while active.
- Hex: Fortune’s Fool (General Perk): Each time you hook a Survivor for the first time, if a Dull Totem is nearby, Hex: Fortune’s Fool activates. It lights the totem, causes that Survivor to be permanently Oblivious, prevents others from cleansing the totem for 90 seconds, and reveals the totem’s aura to the cursed Survivor within 16 metres.
- Gearhead (The Deathslinger): Gearhead activates 30 seconds after a Survivor loses a Health State, and a Good Skill Check while repairing reveals their Aura for 8 seconds.
Another one of Springtrap’s strongest builds, ironically, is the undetectable build. With this build, you use the doors to your advantage and have a bunch of perks that make you undetectable. You’ll be jump scaring the living hell out of the survivors in your game.
Unforeseen, dark devotion and fortune’s fool will remove your terror radius from the survivors’ gameplay. And having gearhead gives you aura reading to know where the survivors are, giving you free jump scares. Security guard’s badge and faz-coin are incredibly strong add-ons for this build. So, if you’re trying to play some lore-accurate spring trap gameplay, give this build a go.
Chase Monster Springtrap Build

This build uses Springtrap’s best chase add-ons and perks to make you an absolute speed demon in chases. It allows you to break pallets, vault windows, and swing very fast.
- Bamboozle (The Clown): After you vault a window, Bamboozle will block that window for the next 16 seconds. It also increases your vaulting speed by 15%.
- Brutal Strength (The Trapper): Increases the action speeds for dropped pallets, breakable walls and damaging generators by 20%.
- Fire Up (The Nightmare): Each time a Generator is completed, Fire Up gets a token up to five. Each token makes you faster at picking up and dropping Survivors, breaking walls and pallets, damaging Generators, and vaulting windows. The bonus adds up to 20%.
- Coup de Grâce (The Twins): Every time a Generator is completed, Coup de Grâce gains 2 tokens up to 10 per match. Each token increases the range of your next Lunge Attack by 80% and uses 1 token. You can only hold 5 tokens at a time.
This build uses some of Springtrap’s best chase add-ons and perks to make you an absolute speed monster in chase. By combining bamboozle, brutal strength, fire up, and coup, along with Foxy’s hook and endo cpu, you have yourself a Springtrap that can break pallets instantly, vault windows fast, swing super far, and is also very fast.
Aura Reading Springtrap Build

A build focused on tracking Survivors using aura reading perks. It lets you easily track people through doors and sometimes hit cool axes shots.
- Barbecue & Chilli (The Cannibal): After hooking a Survivor, all Survivors at least 40 metres away have their aura revealed to you for 5 seconds.
- Lethal Pursuer (The Nemesis): At the start of the match, the auras of all Survivors are revealed to you for 9 seconds. Also, it extends the duration of any Survivor aura revealed to you by 2 seconds. Lethal Pursuer works with its own effect.
- Predator (The Wraith): When a Survivor loses you in a chase, their aura is revealed to you for 4 seconds. Predator has a 40-second cooldown.
- Nowhere to Hide (The Knight): When you damage a Generator, Nowhere to Hide activates: the auras of all Survivors within 24 metres are revealed to you for 5 seconds.
I absolutely love aura reading builds, and thankfully, they work incredibly well on Springtrap. Springtrap is a very, very good killer when he has information. So bringing aura perks allows you to track people using your doors super super easily, and sometimes even hit some crazy axes shots. This build is extremely fun to run.
Best Springtrap Add-ons
Bonnie’s Guitar Strings – Shows generator progress whenever you’re in a security door. This lets you locate Survivors immediately at the start of the match without guessing, making map pressure much easier.
Restaurant Menu – Helps you see the trajectory of the axe and recover it faster when it’s embedded in the environment. This lets you throw more axes, practice more, and become more accurate over time.
Security Guard’s Badge – Extends your undetectable duration when using security doors. This allows you to sneak up on Survivors and catch them off guard more easily.
Access Panel – Lets you throw the axe through linked doors and grants killer instinct when a Survivor is within 4 meters of a security door. While niche, it helps you land unexpected hits and track nearby Survivors.
Endo CPU – Being near an embedded Fire Axe makes you break pallets, walls, and damage generators faster. The bonus lasts a few seconds even after you leave, letting you stay efficient and keep up pressure.
Streamers – Also improves your movement through doors, giving you better mobility and chase potential.
